Te Wiki o te Reo Māori and The Art Show! (Week 9)

Kia ora Whānau,

Week nine already! Below are some updates from our week:

Ruby and Honor shared their adventures with Mr. Cheeky! That lucky monkey has been soaking up the sun in Fiji and has been busy baking banana bread!

To celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori we were lucky enough to have senior students come and teach us haka and waiata. We also learned new phrases for our morning greeting, such as, ke te pehea koe?

We hope you all enjoyed Thursday’s art show! The students have worked hard this term creating various art pieces to share. You are welcome to pop in anytime and take a look if you didn’t get the chance 🙂

The children also worked hard this week creating scratch art. They can use this art to trace with their finger at meditation time and help with their breathing.

Congratulations to Connor and Violet who received Duffy books at assembly this week- tino pai!

Have a lovely weekend,
Helena

Tongan Language Week (Wk 8)

Mālō e lelei! Room 5 has been learning all about Tongan language through song. Check them out below:

We had our Duffy assembly on Thursday- Room 5 made the most of the sunshine reading their new books under the trees:

Congratulations to River who received a Duffy Book at Friday’s assembly!
Enjoy the weekend,
Helena

The Mystery Box!

At the start of each week for oral language, students are bringing an item for ‘The Mystery Box’. The class then has to guess what’s inside using only ‘yes or no’ questions.

Well done Zeta!
It took the class 25 questions for room 5 to guess Zeta’s item!

Inside the box were some beautifully painted stonesZeta told us all about getting them from the market.

Keep an eye out whānau for an email when it’s your child’s turn for the mystery box.

Ngā mihi,

Helena Pownall

Week 7

What a week! We began with Ethan sharing about his adventures with Mr Cheeky- he loved seeing all the delicious bananas at the supermarket!

Our artists are preparing some very exciting art for you to see at the art night in week 9!

The students were very creative in Friday’s STEM challenge! They tried their best to create their name in lego!

We completed some beautiful mindfulness art on Friday- the students were so relaxed!

Congratulations to Ethan who received a Duffy book, Mila and Quinn on their dance exam, and Jacob on his final rugby game – what a class of superstars!
