Week 6

We began the week with Connor sharing his adventures with Mr. Cheeky- he still got to enjoy some delicious nachos after getting up to some mischief!

The students used puppets to create re-enactments of ‘The Lost Sheep’ bible story. After some rehearsals, they used the iPads to film and create their own digital movies. The children took on different roles such as camera operator and narrator. It was great to see the teamwork and discussion that took place.

Congratulations to Lincoln who received a Duffy book for his beautiful story writing- tino pai!
Chelsy did a wonderful job teaching the school how to sing Happy Birthday in Māori 🙂

Science Fun!

Today Room 5 learned all about the process of being a scientist!

We started with a question- What would happen if we combined baking soda and vinegar in a bottle with a balloon on top?

The children then learned what a hypothesis is. They all made predictions of what they thought might happen.

We then compared the results of the experiment to our original hypothesis!

This was linked with our R.E curriculum. We have been learning all about how God helps us grow. The children made the connection that, like the balloon, we grow too!

Class Disco! (and week 5)

Too much fun in Room 5 today. To celebrate earning enough footsteps for our class reward we had a disco. Check out the action below:

We got dressed up in our disco clothes:

Zeta had us looking extra groovy with some glow sticks!

We showed off our best moves on the dance floor:

We danced extra hard for bubbles and spot prizes:

Room 4 came and joined us for a boogie:

We enjoyed games like pass the parcel and more!

Overall lots of fun for our Friday- we’ll be working hard for the next reward!

The Mystery Box

At the start of each week for oral language, students are bringing an item for ‘The Mystery Box’. The class then has to guess what’s inside using only ‘yes or no’ questions.

Well done Mila!
It took the class 39 questions and a few clues before Mila let us know what was inside.
